UV Lamp for Pool

An extra step in water treatment

Give the pool water a well-considered purification solution

Do you want to supplement your pool's existing water treatment? A UV lamp treats the water as it passes through the unit and can be part of a well-functioning purification system. At Pooltime, you will find UV treatment from, among others, Pahlén and Brilix. Choose based on the pool's volume, circulation flow, and the water environment where the equipment will be used.

Complementary treatment

The UV unit works together with filtration and the pool's other water treatment.

Model based on the system

Compare recommended flow, pool volume, and connections before making your choice.

Plan for easy service

Take into account space for lamp replacement, cleaning, and access in the technical room.

What does UV treatment do in the pool system?

The water is led through a closed unit where it is exposed to UV light. The treatment takes place in the unit, while the filter handles particles and the pool's other water treatment performs its functions. UV treatment therefore does not replace the need for proper circulation, regular water testing, and the correct water balance.

A UV lamp also does not by itself make the pool chlorine-free. Follow the instructions for your system and continue to check the water values. That way, you buy UV treatment with the right expectations and get a solution that works well with what you already have.

Choose a UV lamp based on flow and water environment

It is easy to compare only the lamp's wattage. Just as important is how quickly the water passes through the unit and the pool volume specified by the manufacturer. Also check pipe dimensions, installation position, and the space needed to remove the lamp for service.

Do you have a salt chlorinator? Choose a UV unit that is explicitly intended for the current salt level. Material choice matters. The Brilix UV lamp SP in our range is, according to the product information, not intended for salt water, so it should not be chosen based solely on the pool's size.

Compare UV treatment at Pooltime

In the collection, you will find, among others, Pahlén UV Puriq Bright, Brilix UV lamp SP, Pahlén Auto-UV titanium, and Easy-UV 2.0. Use the product information to compare capacity, material, and installation requirements. Choose the model that suits your water treatment, rather than assuming that all UV units work the same way in all pools.

  • Find out the pool volume and the circulation flow rate.
  • Check whether the pool uses salt and what salt level applies.
  • Measure the available space, including room for service.
  • Make sure how the unit should work with existing equipment.

Frequently asked questions before your purchase

Does a UV lamp replace the pool filter?

No. UV treatment and filtration have different functions. The unit should be part of a system with proper circulation and filtration.

Do all UV lamps work in a saltwater pool?

No. Always check that the material and the product's stated intended use match the salt level. Do not choose a model intended only for pools without salt.

Does a UV lamp require maintenance?

Yes. Follow the manufacturer's intervals for lamp replacement, cleaning, and inspection. Therefore, plan access already when choosing the location.
