Benefits of our pool enclosures

Safety is often a major reason to choose a pool enclosure, but there are other benefits as well. A pool enclosure protects the pool water from contaminants such as dirt, sand, stones, leaves, and not least rainwater that alters the pool’s pH value.

A pool enclosure is also a cost-efficient option. When you cover the pool, you can use it for a longer period, thereby extending the swimming season. You can expect to swim from April to October in 28–30 degree water, as pool enclosures have high insulating capacity and retain heat in the pool water.

One of the main advantages of pool enclosures and pool covers is reduced maintenance. That means less work for you and easier pool ownership. The enclosure protects the pool from, for example, falling leaves, and also prevents children and pets from accidentally falling into the water. If the enclosure is lockable, you do not need to install a fence around the pool.

With transparent pool enclosures, bacterial growth is also reduced because the sun’s UV rays eliminate a large portion of it. This results in lower consumption of chemicals and filtration. Great benefits for both the environment and your wallet. In winter, the pool enclosure acts as perfect winter coverage, which also means less maintenance.

We offer various pool enclosure options of high quality and a wide range of different models. With us, you can find a pool enclosure that suits your garden and pool. Read more about our pool enclosures

High pool enclosures

When pool enclosures arrived in Sweden in the 2000s, only the high models were delivered in a box. The high models handle snow brilliantly, and you do not need to worry about the pool enclosure if you go on a winter holiday.

Another advantage of a high pool enclosure is that it is easier to keep clean. The arched pool enclosure has a steeper slope along the sides, causing dirt and snow to slide off more easily than on low pool enclosures with a flatter surface.

The arched pool enclosure is also better when snow accumulates on it; if you have a flat pool enclosure, it is best to sweep the snow off. If you have a holiday home/cabin with a pool that you do not monitor as closely, a high enclosure can be a better winter cover.

High pool enclosures offer heights around 1.5 meters, which almost makes it feel like your own bathhouse and provides a long swimming season. You can jump, stand, and play across the entire pool. Many think they are large, but big, high enclosures come with many advantages.

MEDIUM-HIGH POOL ENCLOSURES

Medium-high pool enclosures are usually about 90 cm in height. That is still a comfortable height for a pleasant environment that lets you swim and stand upright in the middle of the pool. Heights under half a meter are considered more of a cover.

With an enclosure that is under one meter above ground level, neither a building permit nor a notification is required. However, the distance to the property boundary must be at least 4.5 meters. If you need to place the pool and pool enclosure closer to your neighbour’s boundary, you need your neighbour’s written consent.

Medium-high pool enclosures are a good choice as they do not obstruct views of the landscape, garden, or your neighbour’s outlook. You can comfortably swim under a fully covered pool, and the higher construction allows free movement in the middle of the covered pool area.

The medium height of the pool enclosure is therefore a good compromise if you want to spend time and move around under the pool enclosure without blocking too much of the view from the house or for the neighbours. Medium-high models also come with more arched roofs, which makes cleaning easier and winter coverage smoother.

It is smooth and easy to open the enclosure with sections that can be moved in both directions. If desired, you can extend the tracks so the entire enclosure can be slid away from the pool area.

The sliding system enables smooth movement of the segments in both directions. If the tracks are extended, the entire pool enclosure can be slid away from the pool area so you can swim fully under the open sky.

LOW POOL ENCLOSURES

In recent years, it has been a major trend to have the pool enclosure as low as possible. Low pool enclosures do not block the view from the house, which can be valuable if you want to enjoy sunsets or have a sea view.

Your neighbours can also be a reason for this trend. Low pool enclosures do not obstruct their views, which leads to fewer complaints.

Another reason to choose a low enclosure is the low total weight, which used to make it easier to slide the sections away and open the pool. But with today’s wheel technology, glide tracks, and telescopic constructions, there is not much difference between high and low enclosures. The sections are just as easy to open.

ULTRA-LOW POOL ENCLOSURES WITH A TRACK ON ONE SIDE

The Sydney and Champion models are ultra-low pool enclosures with a track on only one side. These enclosures are exclusive and of the highest quality.

As you usually enter the pool from one side, this solution lets you place the tracks on the opposite side so they are not visible when you step into the pool. A simple and sleek way to avoid visible tracks.

See our range of pool enclosures below or contact us today to discuss which solution best suits your pool and garden.

POOL ENCLOSURES WITH ELECTRIC MOTOR

With this solar-powered pool enclosure, opening and closing your pool has never been easier. Our MOOVER is an automatic, solar-powered electric motor that makes life by the pool easier. The fact that it is solar-powered is perfect in 2023, when electricity is anything but cheap.

You can easily control MOOVER with a remote that opens and closes the pool enclosure for you. It also charges via solar cells. If there is little sun, you can simply connect it to the mains. Under optimal conditions, a single charge lasts the entire summer season without needing to recharge.

Our MOOVER can be added to most pool enclosures on the market. Contact us to learn more about our convenient automatic solar-powered electric motor for pool enclosures. We offer a wide range of pool accessories. Click here for more pool accessories.

SAFETY COVERING FOR YOUR POOL

The pool enclosures supplied by Pooltime are classified as a safety covering for your pool, as they protect children and pets from falling into the pool. The pool enclosure insulates the pool so it retains heat, reducing the energy needed to keep it warm.

We offer three different premium pool enclosure brands so you can choose the one that suits you best. We have low, ultra-low, medium-high, and high enclosures, all easy to open and close. Extend your swimming season and keep children and pets safe in the garden.

Pool enclosures are available with multiwall polycarbonate or clear panels, with anodised aluminium profiles or anthracite-coloured profiles. We have a large selection of all kinds of enclosures for pools, so we can guarantee you will find the right pool enclosure for your dream pool. CHILD- AND PET-SAFE POOL ENCLOSURES

All our pool enclosures are approved as safety coverings and have lockable modules to keep unauthorised people out and prevent children from accessing the pool. Drowning is the most common cause of death among toddlers. Protect children and your pets with a high-quality pool enclosure that is easy to open and close.

Pool enclosures keep children and pets away from the pool when you are not present. With a pool enclosure, you avoid having to build a fence around the pool in the garden, as the enclosure itself is sufficient for safety. Because pool accidents often occur when children are curious and exploring their surroundings, it is easy for them to fall in by mistake.

According to Boverket’s regulations, anyone building a pool must provide satisfactory protection for children and pets to reduce the risk of drowning. This requirement applies to all pools with a water depth over 20 centimeters.

Pets that roam freely on the property are also at risk of falling into a pool without a pool enclosure. There are no specific directives for pet safety devices; however, you must be able to demonstrate a high-safety solution for pets.

Below is a video showing our pool enclosures and their durability:

Unbreakable polycarbonate, multiwall polycarbonate and clear panels

There are many choices to make when selecting an enclosure for a pool. In addition to the height of the pool enclosure, there are a variety of material options. It is important to choose the material that suits you, your needs, and your pool. All the materials we offer are of high quality.

Unbreakable polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is an excellent material for pool enclosures. It has high strength, which makes the roof of the pool enclosure unbreakable. It is easy to process and highly resistant to UV radiation. It is a tough material and withstands temperatures from -50 degrees to +120 degrees.

Multiwall polycarbonate

Multiwall polycarbonate is made of polycarbonate and has air gaps within the material itself. The multiwall sheets we sell have a thickness of 8 mm.

Multiwall polycarbonate insulates much better than clear panels, but a drawback is reduced visibility into the pool enclosure. A pool enclosure with clear panels releases about 69% more heat than multiwall panels do.

Clear panels

Clear panels are solid sheets of either unbreakable polycarbonate or SAN (acrylic). We offer clear panels in 3 mm or 4 mm thickness.

SAN costs roughly a quarter of polycarbonate but is less durable; polycarbonate is unbreakable. Polycarbonate is used, among other things, for riot shields and the sidewalls of ice hockey rinks. Many choose clear panels because it is easier to see through the pool enclosure.

Pool enclosures extend the swimming season

The trend towards lower and lower pool enclosures has grown even though, in Sweden, a higher pool enclosure offers a major advantage: you can swim under the enclosure even when it is windy and rainy outside. Aesthetics have simply outweighed practicality.

A transparent enclosure over your pool keeps the water temperature warm for longer, giving you good swimming opportunities for more of the year. As your pool water is heated by the sun’s rays, heating costs are also reduced.

Our recommendation is to choose a pool enclosure based on how you will use your pool. Choosing a pool based on how you think your neighbour should see it is not a good idea. You are welcome to contact us for advice on the different models. We have many years of experience and can offer good options for your pool, sound advice, and the know-how on how they should be installed.

The most popular pool enclosure construction is the telescopic type, made up of sections of gradually increasing size that slide into each other. Each section rolls on running tracks along the edge of the swimming pool to the end of the basin, where the sections fit beneath the largest section.
