Solar panels have previously been a popular choice, as they help raise the pool water temperature during the hottest summer months. Unfortunately, traditional solar panels have not been efficient enough to reach the desired 28–30 degrees in the pool during spring and autumn. Therefore, more advanced options have been developed to meet the demand for a longer swimming season and to ensure your pool can stay warm for more months of the year.

For those who already have a ground-source heat pump or a ground heat pump for home heating, it is possible to easily connect a heat exchanger to their pools. The COP value for these pool heating systems is around 4.0, which means that each kilowatt (kW) of consumed energy generates 4 kW of heat for the pool. This is a cost-effective way to heat your pool if you already have access to a ground-source heat pump, maximizing the value of your existing infrastructure.

To achieve even better performance and a higher COP value, dedicated pool heat pumps have been developed as an optimal heating option. These ON/OFF pool heat pumps have an impressive COP of up to 6.5, representing a significant gain in efficiency. The most modern inverter heat pumps take efficiency to a whole new level with a COP of 16! This translates into substantial savings in operating costs and faster heating of your pool, extending the season and significantly enhancing your swimming enjoyment. Invest in a pool heat pump to get the most out of your pool and ensure a consistently warm pool temperature.

We offer the market’s most modern and efficient solutions for heating your pool. Choose from high-performance pool heat pumps, robust heat exchangers, and other top-quality pool heaters. We help you purchase the pool heater that best suits your pool and your pool enclosure, for an optimal swimming experience and maximum energy efficiency.

Different types of pools

Pooltime offers two types of pools: PP pool and Thermopool.

A PP pool is delivered as a complete shell, which means the pool itself is more expensive to purchase, but installation is cheaper. A PP pool is made of polypropylene, an eco-friendly material that is also approved for the food industry. Thermopool, on the other hand, is a more affordable pool construction consisting of EPS polystyrene blocks clad with a PVC liner.

It takes about 1–2 weeks to build a PP pool, and a handy customer can install it themselves. A Thermopool takes about 4–6 weeks to build, and construction experience is required for a successful result.

PP pools are similar to glasfiberpools and are delivered in one piece as a “complete shell.” Just as glasfiberpools can be purchased in packages with a pool enclosure, PP pool packages with a pool enclosure are also available. Unlike glasfiberpools, the PP pool is made of a homogeneous material, which provides a significantly longer service life.

The walls of glasfiberpools are concave, meaning they lean outward. If you choose a glasfiberpool that is 3.6 meters wide, you should know that glasfiberpools have an edge of about 8 cm all around, after which the walls lean inward. This means the bottom surface in practice is not wider than about 2.6 meters.

The walls of a PP pool, however, are straight, and if you buy a pool that is 3 × 6 meters, the internal swimming area will also be 3 × 6 meters.

How does it work when I buy a pool?

Once you have decided to buy a pool, contact us by email or phone. Provide your address, pool type and size, as well as any pool accessories you have in mind. Our pool experts will then send a quote that includes the material cost and an approximate installation cost.

If the price fits your budget, we will schedule a free home visit where our pool expert and contractor meet you. We review the pool’s placement, choice of pool steps, and pool accessories, and provide guidance on what to consider. The contractor assesses the installation cost, as every plot and pool installation is unique. After the home visit, you will receive an updated quote.

Once you have approved the quote, the work is scheduled, and you can sit back or go on holiday. Our pool contractors can also build decking and lay stone on the terrace, so you return to a fully turnkey pool installation.

Which pool suits me best?

If you have a limited budget and want the most affordable pool solution, and you work in construction, Thermopool is the obvious choice. You get both the lowest material cost and the lowest installation cost.

If you choose a premium material in the form of a high-quality pool that is gentle on health, eco-friendly, and quick to install, the PP pool as a complete shell is a very popular option.

What can we help with when you buy a pool?

We offer pool installation as a turnkey or partial contract. You decide whether we should deliver a complete solution that includes excavation, soil removal, sub-base and drainage, a cast slab, backfilling the pool, connecting the pool and accessories, installing the pool enclosure, and building decking or laying stone.

Our contractors have solid construction experience—from pool installations to deck building and paving—and we take full responsibility for the quality of the work delivered to you.

Would you like a complete pool package solution?

Our pool packages are structured in different levels, such as the base package, comfort package, and heating package, so nothing is overlooked during installation. The packages can be fully tailored to your needs.

The most common pool packages include:
