A fibreglass pool is delivered as a ready-made shell. This makes model selection concrete: you choose a fixed shape with steps, seating and dimensions. For a good result, delivery, crane lifting, foundations, drainage and backfilling need to be planned together.
Pooltime offers several fibreglass pools for Swedish gardens. Here we compare three models and explain what needs to be ready before installation. Product dimensions guide model selection; excavation, sub-base and backfilling must follow the instructions for the ordered pool.
Compare fibreglass pools: 3 × 6 metres and longer models
| Model | Stated model dimensions | Shape and features | Product price including VAT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saba 600 | 6 × 3 × 1.45 m | Integrated steps along the left side wall. | SEK 163,900 |
| Grenada 600 | 6 × 3 × 1.52 m | Steps and two seats. | SEK 155,900 |
| Aves 800 | 8 × 3.20 × 1.55 m | Roman steps and two seats on the opposite side. | SEK 209,900 |
Dimensions, features and product prices come from each product page and were checked on 8 October 2026. Prices refer to the products and should not be read as the total price of a completed pool project. Check options, equipment, transport, lifting and construction work in your quotation. The stated model depth is not automatically the finished water depth.
Which 3 × 6 fibreglass pool should I choose?
Saba 600 and Grenada 600 have the same stated length and width but different depths and interiors. Saba has steps along the left side wall; Grenada has two seats and steps. Compare how the steps and seating affect the unobstructed swimming area. Then choose according to how you want to use the pool and check the drawing against the available space on your plot.
What is the difference between a fibreglass pool and a PP pool?
A fibreglass pool uses a shaped shell made of glass-fibre-reinforced material, reinforced polyester in the models above. A PP pool has a polypropylene shell. Materials, manufacturing methods and model ranges differ, as do the specific requirements for foundations and backfilling.
Do not choose solely by material name. Compare shape, dimensions, steps, equipment, documented installation requirements, warranty and total scope of supply. Read our guide to pool types for more options.

1. Examine the ground and plan drainage
Establish the soil type, groundwater conditions and where water may collect around the pool. Foundations must be level and stable, using the materials and dimensions specified in the pool's installation instructions. Have a qualified professional assess the plot if conditions are uncertain or difficult.
Plan drainage and any sump before excavation is finished. An empty or partly drained pool can be affected by external water pressure. A standard solution for a different pool model is not sufficient to determine the construction on your plot.
2. Prepare delivery and crane lifting
Check the shell's transport dimensions, access route and unloading space. The crane supplier must be able to assess reach, load, setup and the ground's bearing capacity. Trees, roofs, overhead cables and other obstacles must be included in the planning.
Prepare excavation and foundations as agreed before delivery. Decide who will receive the pool, inspect the delivery and take responsibility for lifting. Use the lifting points and instructions applicable to the model.
3. Install, connect and backfill according to the instructions
Check the pool's position and level after it has been lowered into place. Coordinate pipework, connections and pressure testing before covering installations. Water filling and backfilling must follow the manufacturer's specified sequence and stages so that the shell is not loaded unevenly.
Document the important stages with photos and keep installation instructions, product information and inspection records. This simplifies future servicing and clarifies responsibility for different parts of the work.
4. Choose equipment and enclosure together with the pool
Size the pump, filter and pipes according to pool volume, pipe runs and system needs. Check what is included with the pool product and what is optional. Also decide where equipment and connections will go so they remain accessible for servicing.
The enclosure must fit the actual external dimensions of the pool and coping. Allow space for rails and the enclosure sections when moved aside. See our guide to enclosures and dimensions and compare suitable pool heating.
Caring for the fibreglass pool surface
Use cleaning tools and water care products intended for the pool surface. Follow the manufacturer's limits and advice for water balance, temperature and chemicals. Check the water regularly with a pool test kit that measures the right parameters.
Do not drain the pool on your own initiative without first checking the instructions and groundwater conditions. Winter closing must follow the instructions for the pool, pipework and other equipment.
Questions the quotation should answer
- Which model dimensions apply, and how much unobstructed swimming space do the steps and seats leave?
- What foundations, drainage and backfilling does the model require?
- What is included in the product price, and what is optional?
- Who is responsible for transport, crane hire, installation and commissioning?
- Which written warranty terms apply, and which installation requirements must be met?
- Who can help with questions after delivery?
Frequently asked questions about fibreglass pools
How quickly can a fibreglass pool be installed?
Lowering a ready-made shell into place can be a short operation. The whole project's duration also depends on groundworks, drainage, connections, backfilling, commissioning and reinstatement. Request a schedule for your specific project.
How much does a fibreglass pool with installation cost?
The product prices in the comparison are a starting point. A complete quotation also needs to specify groundworks, transport, lifting, equipment and installation. Read our guide to pool budgeting and quotation items.
