Pooltime Exklusiv 12mm PP pool 3 x 6 x 1,5 m

How much does a pool cost? Budget from groundwork to operation

How much does a pool cost? To create a useful budget, you need to distinguish the product price from the cost of a completed pool project. The pool model, equipment, groundworks, transport, installation and reinstatement are separate items. Two projects with the same pool size can therefore have different total costs.

Here we show verified product prices and a checklist for the quotation. Groundworks and construction costs for PP pools and thermopools are assessed according to the plot's conditions and the required scope.

Specific product prices for fibreglass pools

The following are product prices including VAT, checked on 8 October 2026. They are not prices for a completed pool including groundworks. Check the product page to see which equipment is included and which options you have selected.

Examples from Pooltime's range
Model Stated model dimensions Product price
Grenada 600 6 × 3 × 1.52 m SEK 155,900
Saba 600 6 × 3 × 1.45 m SEK 163,900
Aves 800 8 × 3.20 × 1.55 m SEK 209,900

The price of the selected pool product is the starting point for the budget. Transport, crane hire, foundations, installation, equipment and the pool area must be checked item by item before you can compare a complete quotation. A dimension in a model name is not the same as the excavation dimensions or finished water depth.

How to build a complete pool budget

Ask for a clear scope for each item
Budget item What the quotation needs to state
Pool and basic equipment Model, size, steps, surface material and which pumps, filters, skimmers, inlets and pipe fittings are included.
Groundworks and foundations Excavation, removal of spoil, drainage, foundations, backfilling and how rock or groundwater will be handled.
Transport and lifting Delivery location, unloading, any crane, access and responsibilities at delivery.
Installation Assembly, pipework, pressure testing, electrical connection, commissioning and a handover with the customer.
Cover and heating Selected enclosure or pool cover, rails, assembly, heat pump and connection components.
The pool area Coping, decking or paving, drainage and reinstatement of the plot.
Service and documentation Warranty terms, manuals, allocation of responsibilities and any agreed servicing.

Two ways to compare the budget

Example: a fibreglass pool for a smaller garden

Start with a specific model, such as Saba 600, and its current product price. Then add the checklist items not included in the offer. Request the same pool model, equipment and ground conditions in every quotation. You can then see whether the price difference relates to the product itself or different amounts of work.

Example: a PP pool or thermopool with a complete solution

Start with the required size, pool type and intended use. Specify the enclosure or other cover, heating, water treatment and which parts of the work you want help with. Pooltime prepares a price proposal based on these choices and the plot's conditions. A general construction cost cannot replace this assessment.

Read our comparison of pool types if you are still choosing between a PP pool, thermopool and fibreglass pool.

What affects the price of the pool enclosure?

The enclosure's width, height, rails, doors and delivery format affect the choice and cost. Enclosures for the same nominal pool size can have different internal dimensions and offer different amounts of space beneath the sections. Compare drawings and scope alongside the price.

Our pool enclosure guide with models and price examples includes comparisons for 3 × 6 and 4 × 8 metres. First choose an enclosure that fits; then check assembly, delivery and extra rails.

Calculate the pool's running costs

The operating budget includes electricity for circulation and heating, water care, water, servicing and wear parts. The cost depends on the swimming season, desired temperature, weather, cover and how the installation is used.

For an electrical component, you can calculate the energy cost as measured electricity use in kWh × your total electricity price per kWh. If estimating from power and operating time, the power must be the electrical input power. A heat pump's stated heating output is not the same as its electricity consumption. Use actual operation or a calculation sized for your installation.

Ask for recommendations for pool heating and circulation suited to the pool volume, pipework and swimming season. Water balance and regular checks with a pool test help you avoid unnecessary chemical adjustments.

What we need to provide a relevant price proposal

  • Town and address, plus photos of the intended pool location.
  • Desired pool size, model or material.
  • What you know about the ground and access for machinery and delivery.
  • Your requirements for an enclosure, heating, water treatment and the pool area.
  • Which tasks you want to do yourself and which you want help with.
  • Your desired schedule and whether you need help coordinating the project.

Frequently asked questions about pool prices

Are groundworks included in the product price on the website?

Do not assume so. Read the product's scope and your quotation. Product prices and construction work should be clearly separated unless the work is explicitly included.

What does a complete pool package mean?

Check the contents of the specific package. The term may refer to the pool and equipment without groundworks, lifting or a finished pool area. Ask for a contents list and a list of additional items.

How can I compare two quotations fairly?

Compare the same model, dimensions, equipment, ground conditions and responsibilities. Check VAT, delivery, options, warranty terms and who performs each task.
