Rainwater tanks for the garden's watering needs

A rainwater tank collects water for later use, such as irrigation. The product in the range is described as a plastic tank designed for underground installation. Choose a variant based on the available space, desired storage capacity and how water will be routed to and from the tank. Check the model's dimensions and installation instructions before starting groundworks.

Requirements depend both on how much rainwater can be collected and how it will be used. Roof catchment area, rainfall and irrigation needs vary over the year. A larger tank is therefore not automatically better if inflow or usage is low. Make a simple plan of the area to be watered and where the water outlet is needed.

Positioning and installation

Check ground conditions, access for excavation and how the tank will be lowered into place. Follow the model's requirements for the base, backfill and any anchoring. Loading above the tank must stay within the permitted installation conditions; do not assume all underground tanks can be placed beneath an area used by vehicles.

Plan the inlet, overflow and access for inspection and cleaning. Check whether the chosen delivery includes the filter, pump, lid and connections or whether they need to be added. Pipe routes and service points should be planned before finishing the patio or garden above the installation.

Use and maintenance

Use the water for the purposes the system is designed for, and keep the rainwater system separate from other water installations as specified in the installation documentation. Check how to maintain the filter and tank and how to manage the system during colder months. State the desired capacity and planned use when enquiring.
