Kollektion: Pool pump and electrical cabinet

Swimming in a pool should be an experience filled with joy and relaxation. To ensure that this pleasure remains clean and trouble-free, it is crucial to invest in a robust pump and effective pool filters. The market offers a wide range of purification systems, where the choice between, for example, pleated polyester filters and sand filters is primarily based on the pool's specific needs, its volume, and the desired filtration level. A well-functioning purification system is fundamental for maintaining water quality and extending the pool's lifespan.

Pool Pump – The Heart of the Pool System

The pool pump can be likened to the heart of the pool system, a component that must work continuously and reliably to circulate the water and enable filtration. A high-quality and reliable pool pump is therefore of invaluable importance. Although there are many budget options on the market, we have carefully evaluated and excluded several pool pump manufacturers due to recurring quality issues. We have only retained the brands that consistently deliver reliable products, this to ensure that our customers get trouble-free operation and can enjoy their pool without unnecessary interruptions. Investing in a quality pump is a long-term solution that minimizes maintenance and maximizes swimming pleasure. Whether you plan to buy a pool or already have one, the choice of a robust pump is a critical factor for optimal function and cleanliness.

What should I consider when choosing a pool pump?

Pool pumps are designed for a specific water flow at a certain distance. The rule is that all the water should be filtered within a maximum of 4 hours. If you have a 4×8 pool with a 1.5m pool depth, the water depth is 1.4m. Then you calculate the total water volume 4x8x1.4 = 44.8m3. Divide that by four to find the minimum pool flow the pump should handle: 44.8 / 4 = 11.2m3.

The pool pump for a pool with a volume of 44.8m3 should therefore handle at least 11.2m3. After that, you should look at the pump curves.

If the pool pump is 1m above the water surface and 9m from the skimmer, a KSE75 according to the curve above is sufficient. However, you must consider all the elbow fittings in the system. Each 90-degree bend adds about 0.5m, so a KSE100, i.e., a 1hp pool pump, is recommended for pools measuring 4×8 m with a depth of 1.5m.

What types of pool pumps are available?

Just like pool heat pumps come as inverters, i.e., stepless models, there are also so-called variable speed pumps (VSP) on the market. By running at a lower flow rate over a longer period, you save on electricity costs. The power is still available from the pump if you need to backwash the filter. The cost of VSP pumps will pay off after 4-5 years of use, and it is important that the pump is of good quality.

Should the pool pump run 24/7?

The answer is no. Although filtration is good for pool water, you want to turn off the circulation pump overnight. The reason for turning off the pool pump is that you don’t want to mix the water, especially if the water is warm and it is cold outside. Otherwise, you will cool the water during the night.
