Different Types of Pools

Pooltime offers two types of pools: PP Pool and Thermopool.
PP Pool is delivered as a complete shell, making the cost of the pool itself higher but the pool installation cheaper. A PP pool is made of polypropylene, an environmentally friendly material also approved for the food industry, while Thermopool is a more affordable pool construction made of EPS foam, covered with a PVC liner. Building a PP Pool takes about 1-2 weeks and a handy customer can install it themselves. A Thermopool takes 4-6 weeks to build and construction experience is required for a successful result.

PP Pool is similar to a fiberglass pool and is delivered in one piece as a “complete shell.” Just as you can buy fiberglass pool packages with covers, PP pool packages with covers are also offered. Unlike fiberglass pools, PP Pool consists of a homogeneous material, resulting in a much longer lifespan for the PP Pool. Fiberglass pool walls are concave, meaning they slope outward. When choosing a fiberglass pool that is 3.6m wide, you must know that fiberglass pools have an edge of about 8cm around the pool, after which the walls slope, so the actual bottom width of the fiberglass pool is no more than 2.6m.

The walls of the PP pool, however, are straight, so if you buy a 3×6 m pool, the internal swimming dimensions will also be 3x6m.

How Does It Work When I Buy a Pool?

Once you have decided to buy a pool, you contact us by sending an email or calling us by phone. You provide your address, pool type and size, as well as any pool accessories you plan to have. Our pool experts will then send a quote that includes the materials and an approximate installation price. If the price fits your budget, we schedule a free home visit where our pool expert and contractor meet with you. We then review the pool placement, choice of pool stairs, pool accessories, and provide advice on what to consider. The contractor assesses the costs involved in the pool installation since every plot and pool installation is different. After the home visit, you receive an updated quote. Once you approve the pool quote, the work is scheduled, and you can relax or go on vacation as our pool contractors can also build decking and lay patio stones so you come home to a turnkey pool installation.

Which Pool Is Best for Me?

If you have a limited budget and want the cheapest pool option and you work in the construction industry, then the Thermopool is the obvious choice. You get both the cheapest material and the lowest installation cost.

If, on the other hand, you choose quality materials in the form of a premium pool that is good for health, environmentally friendly, and quick to install, then the PP Pool as a complete shell is a popular option.

Do You Want a Complete Pool Package?

Our pool packages are compiled from various packages, such as basic package, comfort package, heating package, and more, so that nothing is forgotten or missing during installation. These pool packages can be customized entirely based on your needs.

The most common pool packages consist of:

• basic package – includes filtration system (pool pump/sand filter), lights, insulation, hoses, cleaning package, chemical package, connection package
• comfort package or comfort technology – includes a choice of pool stairs and either a cleaning robot or pump cabinet/pump room
• heating package – includes pool cover, pool heat pump, and connections for the heat pump. Heating is something to consider in Sweden, which is why we also offer complete pool packages with pool covers and complete pool packages with pool heat pumps to our customers.
• automatic chlorine or salt – includes automatic chlorine or salt dosing machine, as well as 20l containers for pool chemicals
