Which pools can you find with us?

Today, there are many different approaches to building a pool and many different materials to choose from. There are many different types of pools on the market, and these can be divided into two categories: pools delivered in parts and those delivered as a “one-piece shell”. With a pool that is delivered fully assembled, that is, as a “complete shell”, installation is much faster, and you do not need a PVC liner in the pool.

Thermoplastic Pool / PP Pool, environmentally friendly “one-piece spa bath” complete pool package

Thermoplastic pool or polypropylene pool (PP Pool) / plastic pool is the latest technology in the pool industry. The pool’s material consists of an environmentally friendly material called polypropylene and belongs to the thermoplastics group. These have extremely good insulating properties.

Thermoplastic pools are delivered as a “single-piece shell”, just like fibreglass pools. Since polypropylene is a homogeneous material, osmosis/blistering does not occur. This can happen in cheap fibreglass pools that contain polyester. The material is highly durable, which means that even dogs can swim in the pool! To read more about our PP Pools, please see our pool catalogue.

Fiberglass pool

This pool is delivered as a “one-piece shell”. This type of pool has been in very high demand on the market in recent years. At Pooltime, we carefully select our suppliers so that your pool lasts as long as possible. Fibreglass is a very sensitive material, which makes it especially important to choose the right supplier.

The reason is that cheap (low-quality) fibreglass pools containing polyester can develop what is known as blistering or osmosis. The polyester slowly lets water through, which then freezes in winter. This can cause your pool to crack and/or develop mould in summer, as well as form bubbles in the surface layer.

Our supplier offers the world’s most unique pool with patented Composite Armour technology. These fibreglass pools are also called composite pools.

Composite pools contain a mesh of Kevlar and carbon fibre, making the pool walls flexible but also incredibly durable. Composite pools contain only vinyl ester and not polyester, which is why these pools are guaranteed for life.

Thermal Pool / Isopool

The thermopool consists of polystyrene blocks, which are then filled with concrete to form the pool's frame. We offer thermopools from Chemoform. The pool wall is then lined with a liner, available in many different colours. An isopool is a perfect choice for those who find it difficult to get a ready-made pool onto their property.

Whatever pool model you decide on, you are welcome to consult our sales team before purchasing a pool. In-ground pool or above-ground pool, fibreglass pool, thermoplastic pool, thermopool or liner pool – we will help you choose the right dream pool for your property!

Here is more information about our thermopools, or configure your thermopool directly in our online store.

Above-Ground Pool / Children's Pool

Above-ground pools, also known as paddling pools, are available in many different sizes. What these pools have in common is that they stand above the ground and are a self-supporting construction with a metal frame and liner.

Above-ground pools / paddling pools are usually entry-level models, where families first buy an above-ground pool as a test. Many people who have tried an above-ground pool often choose an in-ground pool as a permanent pool.

You can find our models of above-ground pools in our online shop this spring.

Complete pool packages

We have developed complete pool packages to make it easier for our customers when buying a pool. If you do not work with pools, it can be difficult to know which products you actually need for the pool or for the accessories. For example, if you buy pool lighting, you will also need a transformer for the lighting.

Our pool packages are divided into basic packages, comfort packages, heating packages, etc. See our pool packages

Build your own pool in Copenhagen

Many customers want to handle the construction of their pool themselves. In that case, it can be useful to know the cost of building a pool. The prices we offer for pool installation are very competitive, and it can often be better to let a professional handle the pool construction instead of doing it yourself.

If you choose an expert for the job, you know that everything will be done correctly, it will go faster, you can spend time on other things, sit back, and enjoy the pool when it is ready. During home visits in Copenhagen, the excavator and the pool installer/pool builder are on site, so your quote is as accurate as possible. It is a perfect opportunity to ask them any questions you may have about the construction of the pool before you get started. Then you are free to begin building your dream pool.

Good to consider before building a pool

Although neither planning permission nor ground permits are normally required when building a pool in the city of Copenhagen and surrounding areas, a certain amount of common sense is still needed when building a pool. Some things that are good to consider before you build are:

  • Check for any cables and pipes by your foundation on the website ledningkollen.se… It is the customer’s responsibility to check where the cables are before building a pool. This helps you know where not to place the pool.
  • Talk to neighbours in the area who have built pools. It is good to know what the soil conditions and groundwater level are like before you build.
  • Consider whether you have the time and energy to build the pool yourself, or whether it is better to choose a partial or turnkey contract.
  • It is also good to think about what time of year is best for you to start building your pool.
  • Read about the different pool constructions available. What advantages and disadvantages do they have for you?

Accessories for pools in Copenhagen

Here you will also find a very wide range of pool accessories that you might need for your pool. Choose from pool accessories that make being in the pool more comfortable or more practical.

The basic equipment for a swimming pool includes a circulation pump that circulates the water in the pool and a sand filter that cleans the water. There is also various accessories to make the pool water cleaner. A UV lamp alters the bacteria’s DNA so that it cannot reproduce in the water, which means that 70–80% less chlorine is required.

A pool heat pump is necessary if you want to heat the pool water to 30 degrees, which means you can use the pool from March to October. Pool covers are also popular pool accessories that insulate the pool and prevent dirt or leaves from getting into the pool, while protecting children and animals from falling into the pool.

Some examples of the accessories we offer in our range:

  • Pool covers – liner
  • Pool & spa chemicals
  • Pool robot & pool care
  • Water treatment
  • Pool lighting
  • Coping stones
  • Counter-current swimming
  • Pool pump & electrical cabinet

The location of its pool

It is very important to position your pool correctly. Not only for practical reasons, such as where your cables run, but also for optimal use of the pool. It is also a permanent decision; the location of the pool cannot be changed once the pool has been installed and is ready.

It is a good idea to place your pool in a great gathering spot in the garden. However, not too close to exits from the house—you do not want to be close to falling into the pool every time you go outside. But not so far away from the house either, as many people enjoy seeing the pool. Many people feel good being near water and watching the blue water shimmer in the pool. It is something you never tire of. Having a good view of the pool is also beneficial if you have children or pets.

Pool cover

Another thing that is good to keep in mind is to have a few metres of free space behind the pool if you want a pool enclosure. What many people do not think about is that the pool enclosure needs space when it is not covering the pool. This is usually called the pool enclosure’s “parking space”.

A good thing to remember is that you need at least 1 metre extra beyond the “parking space” to be able to walk around your pool. And even if you are not planning to buy a pool enclosure, it may still be good to keep this in mind if you want to buy one for your pool at a later stage.

Safety is the most common reason for buying a pool cover, but there are also other good reasons to get one. The pool cover protects the water in the pool from impurities such as sand, stones, dirt, leaves, and not least rainwater, which changes the pool’s pH value.

A pool enclosure is also a good financial option. If you cover the pool with a pool enclosure, you can use the pool for a longer period and extend the swimming season. You can then expect to be able to swim in the pool from April to October in 28-30 degree water, as the pool enclosure has a high insulating capacity.

Pool steps

The pool skimmers should always be positioned at the end closest to the house/terrace/balcony on your property. You should also think about where the sun rises and sets, so that you have the sun in your face and not at your back. A smaller pool of 3 x 6 m, a corner staircase, a rounded corner staircase, or a corner staircase with a bench is preferable. This allows you to use the full length of the pool.

For a larger pool of 4 x 8 m, a full-width end staircase or a corner staircase with a bench is recommended. You can then sit on your full-width end staircase just as easily as you can walk down into the pool. In recent years, however, it has become more popular to use a corner staircase with a bench instead, because full-width end staircases take up 1.2 m of the pool's length.

What size pool should you choose in Copenhagen?

The basic rule says that if you have a smaller plot of <400 m2, a pool size of 3 x 6 m is recommended. Larger plots of >400 m2 can accommodate pool sizes of 4 x 8 m or larger. These two pool sizes are standard, and all pool enclosures are manufactured to fit these pool sizes.

Choosing a pool that suits everyone’s needs and the whole family is not always an easy task. But creating an oasis on your property where you can escape Copenhagen’s hot inner city is worth its weight in gold.

A lovely and refreshing swim, appreciated by adults, children, and guests alike. A pool you can enjoy for many years to come, which can also increase the value of your house in Copenhagen.
