Which pools do we have for Pooltime?

There are many different ways to build a pool and many different materials to choose from. Today, there are many different types of pools on the market, and these can be divided into two categories.

Pools delivered in parts and those delivered as a “complete shell”. With a pool delivered as a “complete shell”, installation is much faster, and you do not need to have a PVC liner in your pool.

Thermoplastic pool / PP pool, environmentally friendly “full bathtub” complete pool package

Thermoplastic pool or Polypropylene pool (PP Pool) / Plastic pool is the latest technology in the pool industry. The pool material consists of an environmentally friendly material called Polypropylene and belongs to the thermoplastics group. These pools have incredibly good insulating properties.

Thermoplastic pools are delivered as a “single shell”, just like fiberglass pools. Since polypropylene is a homogeneous material, osmosis/blistering does not occur. This can happen in cheap fiberglass pools that contain polyester.

The material is very durable, which means that even dogs can swim in the pool! Read more about our PP pools and see our pool catalogue.

Glasfiberpool

This pool is delivered as a “one-piece shell”. This type of pool has been in very high demand in recent years. At Pooltime, we carefully select our suppliers so that the lifespan of your pool is as long as possible. Fiberglass is a very sensitive material, which makes it especially important to choose the right supplier.

If you buy a cheap (low-quality) glasfiberpool that contains polyester, you may experience something called blistering or osmosis. In that case, the polyester slowly lets water through, which freezes in winter. This means that pools can crack or develop mold in summer and form bubbles in the surface layer.

Our supplier offers the world’s most unique pool based on the patented Composite Armour technology. These fiberglass pools are also called composite pools.

Composite pools contain a mesh of Kevlar and carbon fiber, which makes the pool walls flexible while also extremely durable. Composite pools contain only vinyl ester and no polyester, which is why these pools come with a lifetime warranty.

Thermo pool / Isopool

A Thermopool consists of polystyrene blocks that are then filled with concrete; this becomes the frame of the pool. We offer Thermopools from Kemoform and from Jackon. The pool wall is then lined with a liner, available in many different colours. An Isopool is a perfect alternative for those who find it difficult to get a ready-made pool onto their property.

Whichever pool model you choose, you are welcome to contact and consult our sales staff before your pool purchase. In-ground pool or above-ground pool, glasfiberpool, thermoplastic pool, Thermopool or liner pool – we will help you choose the right dream pool for your garden!

Above-ground pool / children's pool

Above-ground pools, also known as paddling pools, are available in many sizes. What these pools have in common is that they are above ground. They are also a self-supporting construction with a metal sheet frame and liner.

Above-ground pools / paddling pools are usually entry-level models. You typically buy an above-ground pool as a family pool to try out pool ownership. Many people who have experienced what it is like to have an above-ground pool often then invest in an in-ground pool as a permanent pool. You can find our range of above-ground pools here in the online shop.

Complete pooled packages

We have also put together complete pool packages to make things easier for you as a customer. If you do not work with pools, it can be difficult to know which products you actually need for your pool or accessories. For example, if you buy a pool light, you will also need a transformer for it.

The pool packages are divided into basic packages, comfort packages, heating packages, etc. See our pool packages

Build a pool yourself in Aalborg

Many customers choose to build their pools themselves. In that case, it can be an advantage to know the costs of building the pool. The prices we offer for pool installation are very competitive, and it can often be better to have a professional handle the construction of the pool rather than doing it yourself.

If you choose a pool expert, you know that everything will be done correctly, it will go faster, and you can spend your time on other things instead—sit back and enjoy the pool when it is ready. For home visits in Aalborg and the surrounding area, the excavator and the pool installer/pool builder are also present on site. This is because we want the quote to be as accurate as possible. It is a perfect opportunity to ask questions you may be wondering about before construction begins. Then it is free to get started on building your dream pool.

Good things to consider before building your pool in Aalborg

Although you normally do not need a building permit or land permit when installing a pool in the city of Aalborg and its surroundings, a certain amount of common sense is still required when building a pool. Some things that are good to consider before building a pool are:

  • One important thing to consider is the pool’s location on the property, as well as which size and shape best suit your needs.
  • You also need to decide whether it should be partially or fully in-ground, or above ground.
  • Check for any cables and pipes on the website ledningskollen.se. It is the customer’s responsibility to check where the cables are located, so you know where the pool cannot be placed.
  • Speak with neighbours in the area who have built pools. It is useful to know what the soil conditions and groundwater levels are like.
  • Consider whether you have the time and energy to build a pool yourself, or whether you want to take on shared or turnkey contracts.
  • It is also good to think about what time of year is best for you to start building your pool.
  • Read about the different pool constructions and what their advantages and disadvantages are.

Accessories for your pool in Aalborg

With us, you can also find a very wide selection of pool accessories that you may need for your pool. Choose from pool accessories that make being in your pool more comfortable or more practical.

The basic equipment for a swimming pool includes a circulation pump that circulates the water and a sand filter that cleans the water. There are also various accessories to make the pool water cleaner. A UV lamp changes the bacteria’s DNA so it cannot reproduce, which means that 70-80% less chlorine is required in the water.

A pool heat pump is necessary if you want to heat the pool water up to 30 degrees so you can use the pool from March to October. A pool cover is a popular pool accessory that insulates the pool, prevents dirt or leaves from ending up in the pool, and also protects children and animals from falling into the pool.

Here are some examples of the accessories we supply in our range:

  • Pool heating
  • Pool cloth – liner
  • Pool robot & pool care
  • Water purification
  • Pool lighting
  • Cube
  • Glitter & inlet
  • Pool pump & electrical cabinet

Pool location

Placing the pool correctly is of great importance. Not only for practical reasons, such as where your cables run, but also to ensure it is optimally positioned for using the pool. It is also a permanent decision, as the pool’s location cannot be changed once the pool has been installed.

It is a good idea to place the pool in a pleasant gathering spot. However, not too close to an exit from the house—you do not want to be close to falling into the pool every time you go outside. At the same time, it should not be too far away from the house, as many people enjoy being able to see their pool. Most people feel good being near water, and seeing the blue water shimmering in the pool during summer is something you never tire of. You will also want to be able to keep a close eye on things if your child is in the pool.

Pool cover

Another thing that is good to keep in mind is to have a few metres of free space behind your pool if you want a pool enclosure. What many people do not consider is that the pool enclosure needs space when it is not covering the pool. This is usually referred to as the pool enclosure’s “parking space”.

It is good to remember that you need at least 1 metre extra beyond the “parking space” to be able to walk around your pool. Even if you are not planning to buy a pool enclosure, it can be worth keeping in mind if you want to buy one for the pool at a later stage.

Safety is usually a common reason why people choose to buy a pool enclosure, but there are also other reasons to get one. Pool covers protect the water in the pools from contamination such as sand, stones, dirt, leaves, and not least rainwater, which changes the pool’s pH value.

A pool enclosure is also a good financial option. When you cover the pool, you can use it for a longer period and extend the swimming season. You can then expect to be able to swim in the pool from April to October in 28–30 degree water, as the pool enclosure has high insulating capacity.

How big a pool in Aalborg should you choose?

The basic rule says that if you have a smaller plot of 400 m2, a pool size of 3 x 6 m is recommended. Larger plots of 400 m2 can accommodate pool sizes of 4 x 8 m or larger. These two pool sizes are the standard today, and all pool enclosures are made for these pool sizes.

Choosing a pool that also suits all needs and the whole family is not always easy. A lovely pool that is appreciated by both adults and children, or perhaps guests. Something you can enjoy for many years to come and create wonderful memories with, while also increasing the value of your house in Aalborg.
