Standard pool pumps

Standard pool pumps – features and use

The standard pool pumps category brings together pumps for pool circulation. The pool pump drives water through the filter and other treatment equipment. Correct sizing is essential for consistent water quality, reasonable energy use and a comfortable noise level.

Choose the pump according to pool volume, required turnover time, pipe diameter and length, and resistance from the filter, heater and other equipment. The maximum stated flow is not always the actual flow in a completed installation.

Choose the right pump for your pool

Compare capacity, power, connections, controls and noise data. Also check that the filter can handle the pump's flow. A correctly sized system provides a better balance than automatically choosing the largest model.

What to check

• Pool dimensions and construction
• Capacity, connections and installation space
• Compatibility with existing equipment
• Care, servicing and winter care

Installation and routine care

Position the pump in a dry, ventilated location with easy access for servicing. Clean the pump basket, check for leaks and avoid dry running. Follow the instructions for frost protection and winter shutdown.

The pump curve matters more than a power rating alone

A circulation pump must provide a suitable water flow through the filter, heater and pipework. Motor power in hp or kW alone does not tell you what flow your installation will achieve. Compare the pump curve with the system resistance, pipe diameters and any height differences. The filter must also be rated for the planned flow.

The range includes Kripsol KSE, AstralPool Victoria Plus Silent and AstralPool Sena. Models and variants can differ in power supply, connection dimensions and capacity. Check whether you need single-phase or three-phase power and whether the existing unions actually fit the new pump.

Replace your pump with the right connections

Measure the distance between the suction and discharge connections and note the pump's position relative to the water level. Leave access to the prefilter lid for cleaning. If the problem is a worn seal or a damaged lid, pool pump spare parts may be an alternative to complete replacement. To adjust the speed throughout the day, compare VSP pool pumps.
