Different types of pools

Pooltime offers two types of pools: PP Pool and Thermopool.
A PP Pool is delivered as a single shell, which means the pool itself is more expensive but the installation is cheaper. A PP pool is made of polypropylene, an eco-friendly material that is also approved for the food industry, while a thermopool is a more affordable pool structure made of EPS foam, clad with a PVC liner.To build a PP Pool takes about 1–2 weeks and a handy customer can install it themselves. A thermopool takes 4–6 weeks to build and construction experience is required for a successful result.

A PP Pool is similar to a glasfiberpool and is delivered in one piece as a “single shell”, and just as you can buy glasfiberpools in packages with a pool enclosure, PP pool packages with a pool enclosure are also offered. Unlike glasfiberpools, a PP Pool consists of a homogeneous material, which gives it a much longer service life. A glasfiberpool’s walls are concave, i.e., they slope outward. When you choose a glasfiberpool that is 3,6m wide, you need to know that fiberglass pools have a rim of about 8cm around the pool and then the walls slope, so the actual bottom of the glasfiberpool is no more than 2,6m wide.

The PP pool’s walls are straight, and if you buy a 3×6 m pool, the internal bathing dimension is also 3×6 m.

How does it work when I buy a pool?

Once you have decided to buy a pool, contact us by sending an email or calling us by phone. Provide your address, the pool type and pool size, as well as any pool accessories you plan to include. Our pool experts will then send a quote that lists the materials along with an approximate installation price. If the price fits your budget, we schedule a free home visit where our pool expert and the contractor meet with you. We then review the pool’s placement, choice of pool steps, pool accessories, and offer advice on what to consider. The contractor assesses the costs associated with the pool installation, since all plots and installations are different. After the home visit, you receive an updated quote. Once you approve the quote, the work is scheduled and you can sit back or go on vacation, as our pool contractors can also build a deck and lay pavers on the patio so you come home to a turnkey pool installation.

Which pool is best for me?

If you are on a limited budget and want the most affordable pool option, and you work in construction, then a Thermopool is the obvious choice. You get both the cheapest material and the lowest installation cost.

If, on the other hand, you want premium-quality materials that are good for your health, environmentally friendly, and quick to install, then a PP Pool as a single shell is a popular option.

What we can help with when you buy a pool

We offer pool installation as either a turnkey contract or a shared contract. You decide whether we should deliver a turnkey solution such as excavation, soil removal, base preparation and drainage, poured slab, backfilling the pool, connection of the pool and pool accessories, assembly of the pool enclosure, installation of the pool enclosure, and even building a deck or laying pavers on the patio. Our contractors have extensive construction experience, from pool installations to building decks or laying pavers, and we take responsibility for the quality of the work you receive.

Do you want a complete pool package?

Our pool packages are compiled from various bundles—such as a basic package, comfort package, heating package, and more—so that nothing is forgotten or missing during installation. These pool packages can be customized entirely to your needs.

The most common pool package consists of:

• basic package – includes filtration system (pool pump/sand filter), lights, insulation, hoses, cleaning kit, chemical kit, connection kit
• comfort package or comfort technology – includes a pool staircase of your choice and either a cleaning robot or a pump cabinet/pump room
• heating package – includes a pool enclosure, a pool heat pump, and connections for the heat pump. Heating is something to consider in Sweden, which is why we also offer complete pool packages with a pool enclosure and complete pool packages with a pool heat pump.
• automatic chlorine or salt – includes an automatic chlorine or salt dosing machine, plus 20l containers for pool chemicals
