Pools and spas need products suited to their use

Check that a chemical is intended for your type of pool or spa and dosing method. Pools and hot tubs can differ in water volume, temperature and treatment equipment, so dosing cannot be transferred directly between them. Follow the product label, water test results and equipment instructions.

Examples in the range include liquid pH-minus and ALGICID. Adjusting pH and treating algae are different tasks, and your choice should reflect what the water needs. A large container may be intended for automatic dosing and is not necessarily suitable for manual care of a smaller hot tub. Read the intended use of each product.

Establish a clear water-testing routine

Record the volume, temperature, test readings and products used. This makes it easier to track changes after heavy bathing use, a water change or the start of the season. Automatic systems also need checking and maintenance; the readings must be reliable before the dosing is adjusted.

Choose the pack size according to usage and the product's shelf-life information. Follow the label's handling and storage instructions.
